Applications are now open for candidates from developing States Members of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) for two at-sea placements with Nauru Ocean Resources Inc. (NORI) in accordance with its obligations under its exploration contract for polymetallic nodules in the Area.
ISA is calling for candidates with at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited educational institution and demonstrated interest in marine engineering and the seafloor minerals industry.
The two successful candidates will assist with the testing of NORI’s nodule collection and riser system. The first expedition will mobilize in Europe for testing in the Atlantic in late December 2021 and the exploration campaign scheduled to take place in January – February 2022. The second expedition will mobilize in Mexico for testing in the Pacific in June 2022, with the exploration campaign scheduled to take place in June – August 2022. Exact dates and duration will be confirmed closer to the mobilization.
