The International Seabed Authority (ISA) is calling for the nomination of experts and the submission of scientific information for the upcoming workshop on the development of a Regional Environmental Management Plan (REMP) for the Area of the Indian Ocean, with a focus on the Mid-Ocean Ridges and Central Indian Ocean Basin. The workshop will be held in Qingdao, China, from 27 April to 1 May 2025.
ISA concludes the sixth virtual end-of-training certificate presentation ceremony for beneficiaries of the Contractors’ Training Programme

ISA hosts Fourth Annual meeting of national focal points for capacity development
Kingston, Jamaica – 16 October 2024 — The Secretariat of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) successfully convened its fourth annual meeting of National Focal Points for Capacity Development (NAFOP-CD) on 16 October 2024. As of today, 61 ISA Member States have nominated a NAFOP-CD.

ISA Assembly concludes its twenty-ninth session

The session was presided over by H.E. Ambassador Amara Sowa and took place from 29 July to 2 August 2024, with a break on 1 August in observance of Jamaican Emancipation Day.
ISA Assembly elects Ms. Leticia Carvalho of Brazil as a new Secretary-General
