Ambassador Chen Daojiang presented his credentials to the Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), H.E. Mr. Michael W. Lodge, as the Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to ISA during a special ceremony held on 7 July 2022 in Kingston, Jamaica.
H.E. Mr. Chen Daojiang is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Jamaica. He holds a PhD in Economics from the School of Economics of Zhejiang University.
“China attaches great importance to the practical cooperation with ISA and will continue to participate in all its works, including the negotiations on the draft exploitation regulations. We will keep contributing to various funds and promote the ISA-China Joint Training and Research Center, and other collaborative projects to enhance the common interests of humankind as a whole,” Ambassador Chen Daojiang said during the ceremony.
Secretary-General Lodge welcomed Ambassador Chen Daojiang as the new Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to ISA. “I look forward to continuing to work with China in the implementation of all aspects of ISA’s mandate, including providing capacity-building opportunities to developing member States through the ISA-China Joint Training and Research Centre.”
Before his current appointment Ambassador Chen Daojiang was the General Manager of Shandong Land Development Group Co. Ltd. (2018-2022) and the Director of the Shandong Gold Group Co. Ltd. (2013-2018).
