The International Seabed Authority (ISA) is launching two art competitions to celebrate the deep sea and its mysteries.
The competitions are open until 31 May 2024 and the winners will be announced on World Oceans Day, on 7 June 2024.
For its local art competition, ISA is inviting all students under age 16 in Jamaica to submit drawings or paintings.
For its international art competition, ISA is calling for participants worldwide from age 16 up to submit drawings, paintings or digital designs.
The theme of the art competitions is “Beneath the Surface: Unveiling Hidden Realms”.
The winning artists will be awarded a cash prize and their artworks will be used to develop ISA’s 2024 greetings card and 2025 calendar.
Final designs should be submitted via email to wod@isa.org.jm by Friday, 31 May 2024 using the subject: “WOD Local Art Competition” or “WOD International Art Competition.” Within the body of the email, provide your contact details, including full name, age, school (local competition), and country as well as a short description of the artwork.
