InterRidge announced the recipients of its 2010 Fellowship Programme today.

The three awards made this year included one from InterRidge and two provided from the International Seabed Authority Endowment Fund.

The InterRidge fellowship will allow Shinsuke Kawagucci, a postdoctoral researcher at JAMSTEC, Japan to develop international links, as well as giving him opportunities to expand the interdisciplinary nature of his research.

The other two awardees of the InterRidge Fellowship supported by the ISA Endowment Fund are Baby Divya, currently studying for her Ph.D. at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa, India and Akumbom Vishiti, a graduate student of the University of Buea, Cameroon.

Ms Divya will be working with Dr Robert Morris at the University of Washington and Ms Vishiti will be attached to the international deep ocean systems programme of IFM-GEOMAR.
