His Excellency, Mr. Bernardo Guanche Hernández, the new Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica presented his credentials to the Secretary-General of the Authority as the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to the International Seabed Authority on Thursday, 7 November 2013.

Ambassador Hernández succeeds Ambassador Gala López who completed his term of office in August this year.

Ambassador Hernández commenced his diplomatic career in 1984 and over a span of some twenty five years has enjoyed many overseas postings, including high level appointments in his home country.   Further, he has also attended a number of bilateral meetings and conferences.  He arrived in Jamaica in early September this year to take up his responsibilities as Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica.
