iCAN Meets – Second Edition

The ISA Capacity Development Alumni Network (iCAN) will convene its next learning-series session on 22nd October 2025 to update former beneficiaries on the latest initiatives and progress of activities related to the Area while fostering deeper engagement across the network. This interactive meeting will spotlight two expert-led segments:

  1. “Exploration for Polymetallic Massive Sulphides in the BGR Contract Area of the Central Indian Ocean,” presented by experts from the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), Hannover, Germany, providing a field-level view of current methodologies, findings, and environmental considerations; and
  2. “DeepData: Unlocking the ISA Data Knowledge Repository,” led by the ISA Database Manager, demonstrating how alumni can access, interpret, and contribute to shared datasets to inform evidence-based decision-making.
