Draft REMP for the northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge
In May 2021, drawing on the outcomes from three expert workshops for this region, the Legal and Technical Commission completed its work on the draft regional environmental management plan REMP for the northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge (nMAR). The draft REMP (ISA/27/C/38) was presented to the Council during the twenty-seventh session.
The Council decided to postpone consideration of the draft nMAR-REMP pending the adoption of a standardized procedure for the development, review and approval of REMPs. It further decided that the Legal and Technical Commission should review the draft nMAR-REMP in light of such a procedure.
