On 19 April 2023, the Legal and Technical Commission of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) confirmed the selection of three (3) candidates for training opportunities provided by Global Sea Mineral Resources NV (GSR) in accordance with its obligations under its contract for exploration for polymetallic nodules signed with ISA on 14 January 2013.

ISA launches activity book for children 3 to 6 years old to promote deep-sea literacy and sensitization to conservation and sustainable use of the ocean and its resources
On 4 April 2023, the Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), H.E. Mr. Michael W. Lodge launched a dedicated activity book for children 3 to 6 years old entitled “Life Under Water Pre-School Companion” at ISA’s headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica in the presence of the Honorable Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica.
ISA Council closes Part I of its 28th session
The Council of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) closed Part I of its meetings for the 28th Session on Friday, 31 March 2023. The Council met in person for twelve days. A total of 30 of the 36 Members of the Council were in attendance, along with 22 ISA Members (non-Council Members) and 15 observers.
