The Secretariat of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is accepting proposals for a consultant to develop a project document on facilitating the global sharing of deep-sea genetic data and biological samples.
The consultant should have requisite experience in: (i) developing and implementing projects related to marine scientific research in biology and/or genetics; and (ii) designing international projects using a logical framework approach, in consultation with various stakeholders.
Applicants should have an advanced degree (Master’s or above) in the field of deep-sea biology, marine genetic data, or other related fields. A minimum of five years in developing and implementing projects related to marine scientific research in biology and genetics is required. For more information on the selection criteria, please refer to the Terms of Reference.
The successful consultant will draft a project document on facilitating the global sharing of deep-sea genetic data and biological samples, using the logical framework approach. This includes:
- Developing an integrated results and resources framework, including estimated budget and timeline, as well as clear linkages between activities, expected outputs, and outcomes;
- Identifying strategies for risk management, resource mobilization, and partnership-building; and
- Defining the metrics (e.g., indicators, baselines, and targets) that will be used to monitor and measure the progress towards the expected results identified.
