His Excellency, Mr. Anibal Julio Jiménez Y Abascal, Ambassador of Spain, presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of Spain to the International Seabed Authority, to the Secretary-General of the Authority, Mr. Nii Allotey Odunton on Thursday, 23 April 2015.
Ambassador Abascal began his diplomatic career in 1973 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Spain and has held many diplomatic postings at various levels in Asia, Europe and South America. He was appointed Ambassador of Spain to Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis and the Bahamas in 2014.
Ambassador Abascal holds university degrees in Philosophy and Arts, and Political Science. He is also the recipient of the Officer of the Order of Civil Merit, Commander of the Order of Civil Merit and Commander of the Order of Isabel La Católica from Spain.
