Workshop on Taxonomic Methods and Standardization of Macrofauna in the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone
23 Nov 2014 - 30 Nov 2014
Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South KoreaAgenda | Background Document | Participants | Presentations | Recommendations
Following informal consultations between the Secretary-General and exploration contractors for polymetallic nodules in January 2012 on the biological component of environmental baseline data in exploration areas, the International Seabed Authority convened its first taxonomic exchange workshop on the megafauna in the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone (CCFZ) in June 2013 in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. In November 2014, the ISA convened its second taxonomic exchange workshop on marofauna in Uljin, Republic of Korea.
This workshop focused on taxonomic methods and standardization of macrofauna in the CCFZ.
