JAMAICA, Kingston (22 May 2018) – – Fifty years ago, the international community took a decision to set aside the resources of the seabed beyond national jurisdiction as the common heritage of mankind and to place its administration in the hands of an international organization to be created for that specific purpose.

JAMAICA, Kingston (25 April 2018) – – The International Seabed Authority will be hosting a workshop on the Development of a Framework for Regional Environmental Management Plans (REMPs) for Polymetallic Sulphide Deposits in Mid-Ocean Ridges at the University of Szczecin-Geocentrum, in Szczecin, Poland, from 27-29 June 2018.
