New York, 12 June 2024—The Secretariat of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is pleased to announce the release of a new independent report, “A review of the contribution of the International Seabed Authority to the implementation of the objectives of the 2023 Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction.” The report details the role of ISA and its potential contribution to the objectives of the 2023 Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdictions.

ISA concludes successful data management review and reporting template training sessions

Kingston, Jamaica – Friday, 7 June 2024, the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its recent Data Management Review and Reporting Template Training Sessions. Held over a series of five one-week sessions at the ISA headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica, these sessions brought together data managers and scientific experts from various contractor organizations to enhance their understanding and utilization of the DeepData platform and reporting templates.

The Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), H.E. Mr. Michael W. Lodge, met with H.E. the Honourable Mr. Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, on 24 May 2024 in Antigua and Barbuda. The meeting was the opportunity to discuss the ongoing and productive engagement of Antigua and Barbuda in the work of ISA and in support of ocean governance in general.

ISA Secretary-General concludes strategic visit to Cameroon with significant advancements for ocean diplomacy and strengthened regional cooperation

The Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), H.E. Mr. Michael W. Lodge, concluded a five-day visit to Cameroon on Tuesday, 21 May.
